Betrayed by Blood and Bond

About this story

Synopsis

Nova discovers she is pregnant after two years of deliberately caused infertility - the same night her sister Lyra arrives carrying her mate Damien's child. What appears to be a simple betrayal quickly unravels into a political conspiracy thirty years in the making. Nova carries the bloodline of the original Alpha heirs. Her unborn twins are the most politically dangerous thing this pack has ever seen - children whose existence could change pack succession forever. Her father spent two years hiding wolfsbane in her prescribed supplements to prevent her from conceiving. He filed a Council petition to dissolve her mate bond before a pregnancy could legally protect her. Forced into a Council hearing designed to dissolve her bond publicly, Nova invokes an ancient pack law giving her the right to speak before the Council directly. She enters that chamber carrying a photograph of her mother taken thirty years ago, documented bloodline records, wolfsbane evidence and the truth about a conspiracy that reaches every person of power in this territory. The political war becomes open and irreversible. Nova discovers she is carrying twins. One child carries stronger Alpha bloodline traits than the other. Ancient markings connected to the original bloodline appear publicly through the mate bond in the Council chamber. The Council realises Nova's twins are legitimate heirs tied to ancient succession laws. Nova exposes everything. The conspiracy collapses. Damien publicly chooses her completely. Lyra turns against their father. The Alpha reveals the original bloodline records he buried thirty years ago. Nova saves herself politically and emotionally
