I finally terminated my tutoring contract with Donovan Carlisle, the wealthy hockey captain I had never met. I even waived a six-figure settlement just to get my freedom back. To celebrate my new life, I went to a popular campus bar, only to be cornered by a group of aggressive, drunk football players. Desperate and trapped, I spotted a dangerous-looking stranger in a dim corner. I ran over, threw my arms around his neck, and kissed him hard to use him as a shield. Instead of pushing me away, the stranger played along. His icy blue eyes mocked me as he whispered a command to keep going. In my absolute panic to make the act convincing, I fumbled with his shirt buttons. When the threat finally left, I shoved him away.
