The Alpha's Rejected But Defiant Fated Mate

About this story

Synopsis

I waited five years for my fated mate to return from the war, keeping his pack from falling apart. But the day Carson came back, he didn't even look at me. Instead, he carefully helped a fragile, pregnant woman over the threshold. He announced that Finley was carrying his heir and would be taking the room meant for the Alpha's chosen partner. His family, who had survived entirely on my dowry, immediately turned on me. His grandmother and sister mocked me for being a barren Omega from a lowly merchant pack, praising his mistress as the savior of their bloodline. Carson just stood there, letting them strip away my dignity piece by piece, demanding I do my duty and accept her. They thought I would cry, beg, or cause a hysterical scene to keep my title as Luna. I went back to my room and burned every single love letter I had written him over the last five years. I finally realized how foolish I had been to pour my heart out to a man who saw me as nothing but a political placeholder. So, when they publicly humiliated me again, I calmly smiled and offered to give up my position to his mistress. "I will gladly step aside and return to my family. And, of course, I will be taking my dowry with me." Watching their faces turn pale as they realized they were instantly bankrupt, I knew the real game had just begun.
