Chapter 3 of 54The Blind Alpha's Rejected White Wolf
Available on official platform
Gianna POV:
When I snapped back to reality from the devastating realization, Ezequiel was 'looking' up at the second floor with a cold, dark expression.
"Gianna. Go to the kitchen and brew a bowl of moon-flower tonic for Clarissa. She needs to drink it to calm the baby."
It was so late, and brewing that specific herbal soup would take at least two hours of constant stirring.
I painstakingly dragged my gaze away from that Luna ring, pulled into an abyss of physical and mental exhaustion.
"I'm very tired," I refused wearily, my voice hoarse from holding back tears.
Ezequiel's thin lips pressed together, his thoughts unreadable.
Seeing his brief silence, Clarissa looked inexplicably unhappy.
She smiled at me and said, "Sister-in-law, I'll be staying here for a while. If you cook for me, I'll pay you. Is that okay?"
I truly didn't know how she had the nerve to say that.
In the three years I had been married, had I served her food and drinks any less? When had I ever asked for money?
To my horror, Ezequiel actually chimed in, "There's a black card in the nightstand drawer. Take it and use it."
He probably thought that since I loved subsidizing the bankrupt Waters family so much, giving me money was the perfect solution.
As long as Clarissa was happy during her pregnancy, spending some pack funds was nothing, and it wouldn't be mistreating me either.
I looked at Ezequiel quietly, a wave of agonizing soreness surging in my chest.
When did I ever ask for money? My gaze fell once again on the ring on Clarissa's finger.
Clarissa was the adopted daughter of the Henry family, but it was Ezequiel who had brought her back from the outside and forcefully demanded his parents adopt her.
Because of this, the entire pack knew how much Ezequiel favored her. As his wife, I had always felt this deeply, and as a sister-in-law, I had treated Clarissa like a younger sister.
But looking at it now, it was a hilarious irony—the original Luna taking care of the Alpha's true mate!
Brewing soup was a small matter; normally, I wouldn't refuse.
But right now, my lower body was actively bleeding, and my wolf core was trembling in agony. I didn't want to do it, and I physically couldn't.
"Since you can solve it with money, just hire a professional chef," I said in a light, emotionless tone.
Hearing this, Ezequiel's brow furrowed heavily. "What kind of attitude is that?"
This was the first time Ezequiel had heard me say no. In the past, as a wife, I had always been perfectly accommodating to everyone.
Bang.
I truly had no energy left to argue and directly shut the guest room door, locking their voices out of my world entirely.
