The Defiant Omega's Secret Contract of Rejection

About this story

Synopsis

I was carefully polishing my late mother's memorial tablet in her sacred shrine when my mate, Creed, kicked the door open. He was carrying his injured "brother-in-arms," Savage, and demanded to use my mother's altar as a bloody infirmary. When I tried to stop him, he shoved me so hard I crashed into the altar, shattering my mother's priceless obsidian tablet into a hundred pieces. As the warrior fell, the helmet clattered to the floor, revealing a cascade of golden hair. His cherished "brother" was actually a beautiful woman named Coralie, and the panic in Creed's eyes told me he had known all along. Instead of apologizing, he looked at me with cold impatience. "There's nothing for you here. Get out." In the following days, he paraded her around our home, even buying her a priceless snow-wolf cloak with his family's funds. When she deliberately ruined it to frame me, he blamed me for being jealous and making a scene. I couldn't understand how the boy who once promised to protect me could so callously trample on my mother's memory and my dignity for a manipulative parasite. So, my tears dried up. As a merchant's daughter, I knew exactly how to settle a bad investment. I pulled out my abacus, calculated the 25,250 silver coins he owed me for the damages, and handed him a formal mate rejection letter. Since he destroyed what I treasured most, I chose to bankrupt him and sever our bond forever.
