The Sickly Alpha's Substitute Bride: His Unholy Obsession

About this story

Synopsis

My stepsister and I were held hostage on a crumbling cliff by a Rogue wolf. The Rogue told my Fated Mate, Alpha Jamel, that he could only save one of us. I looked into Jamel's eyes, expecting the unwavering certainty of our soul bond. Instead, he chose my bastard-born stepsister, Justine. "Let Justine go," he commanded, leaving me to die. My heart shattered as I watched Justine mask a triumphant smirk behind her pathetic fake sobs. I was publicly rejected and abandoned by the man whose soul was tied to mine. I laughed, a broken and ugly sound, and sent him my final words through our fraying mind-link. "I curse you. May you never have what you truly desire." Using my last ounce of strength, I broke free, grabbed Justine, and dragged her off the cliff with me. Even as the freezing waves swallowed me, I couldn't understand why the Moon Goddess played such a cruel joke on me. Why did a sacred Fated Mate bond mean absolutely nothing compared to her fake tears? Opening my eyes again, the familiar scent of fresh lilies filled my lungs. I was back in my bedroom, exactly five years in the past. It was the day before the Festival of First Bloom, the starting point of my tragic destiny. I stared at my fifteen-year-old reflection in the mirror, and a chilling smile spread across my lips. This time, I set the rules.
